Pettifer's style is that of a writer rather than an historian and this makes for an excellent read (I got through this in two days!) which will teach the reader about a lot of the idiosynchrasies of the Greek people. It also indicates bravery and ferocity which typifies the animal kingdom's so-called "king of the beasts".
